Malr1ne Returns To Play On Day 2, But Things Don’t Go As Planned
Coming into the event, the Team Falcons star mid player Malr1ne had not secured his visa yet. As a result, SumaiL was brought in as a temporary substitute.
Fortunately for MENA fans, Malr1ne just secured his visa on the first day of ESL One Birmingham 2024 and has arrived at the location to play for Day 2. However, the Falcons did not get the 4-0 result they were expecting today.
The first series of the day for the Falcons was against G2.iG. Game 1 was an easy victory for the BetBoom Dacha Dubai 2024 champions, with Malr1ne performing on Puck, 7/1/12. But, Game 2 did not go as planned, as NothingToSay displayed one of the most outstanding Templar Assassin performances we’ve seen in a while. The Chinese mid-laner went 26/1/5 to tie the series.
Team Falcons faced Team Liquid in the second match of Day 2. All three cores from the Falcons performed to expectations in Game 1, taking it in only 36 minutes. However, miCKe’s Luna and Nisha’s Zeus denied the 2-0 sweep to end the series 1-1.
The Falcons are tied for 3rd to 5th place with Talon Esports and G2.iG after drawing all four of their matches. Only one more day of the Group Stage remains, so the Falcons must grab more wins tomorrow, or they will risk elimination.
