Four Teams Advance To The Riyadh Masters Group Stage; Azure Ray Faces Early Elimination
The second day of the Riyadh Masters 2024 Play-in stage has ended, and some interesting results have been brewed up. Two teams from each group have secured their spots in the next phase of the tournament, while Azure Ray is the first team to confirm their departure from the event.
Group A
The two teams to secure the top positions in their group are Blacklist International and Entity Gaming, with records of 7-1 and 6-2, respectively. It is truly surprising that the Filipinos are performing this well, considering they struggled within their own region. Entity Gaming came into the Play-in as a heavy favorite, so no surprise there.
The South American squad, beastcoast, has also displayed a convincing performance, currently sitting third in the group. The remaining three, Virtus.pro, LGD Gaming, and G2.iG are at risk of an early elimination.
Group B
In Group B, Heroic and PSG Quest will join the teams in the Group Stage with 7-1 and 6-2 records. Aurora is on the brink of making it to the Group Stage as well with a decent 5-3 record, only one win away from securing their spot.
Unfortunately, Azure Ray could not adapt to the new patch and went 0-8 in the Play-in stage, not managing a single map win. Nouns and MOUZ are the two remaining teams in the equation, both with a 3-3 record.
The Play-in stage will run from July 4 to 7, and a total of four teams will be eliminated by the end of it.
