Azure Ray Goes Through Nouns To Set Chinese Derby In The Upper Bracket
Though Nouns showed a lot of promise and potential after their 2-0 victory against Tundra Esports, the North American roster could not repeat their success against Azure Ray.
In the first game, Nouns made questionable picks on their draft, picking Phantom Lancer early and Monkey King on 24th. These picks did not work out as Nouns could only get two kills before they were forced to call GG. The game ended with a kill score of 2 to 28 in a 30-minute game.
Somnus was granted a free Puck game in the second map, and managed to perform at his expected level. Azure Ray pulled ahead in the mid game and snowballed their advantage, barely giving Nouns any room to work with. Though it wasn’t that easy for Azure Ray to end the game, they managed to do it after 47 minutes, sealing the series 2-0.
Azure Ray move on to the next round of the Upper Bracket, where they will have a date with LGD Gaming for a Chinese derby. This guarantees a Chinese team in the Top 3 of The International. Also keep in mind that these two teams are the only Chinese representatives at this TI.
Meanwhile, Nouns will inevitably play against a fellow North American team, as they will face the winner of TSM versus Shopify Rebellion. Three North American teams must eliminate each other, and only one of them will remain in the next few days.
